New England Patriots Jerseys

Commonly known as the "Pats" by fans and press the New England Patriots are part of the NFL's Eastern AFC division. The Patriots used to be called the Boston Patriots until 1971 when the team was moved out of Boston to their current home in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The Patriots welcomed a new home stadium in 2002 when Gillette Stadium was opened. Originally part of the American Football League, the Patriots became part of the NFL during the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. The Patriots cheerleaders and the End-zone Militia make seeing the Patriots play a true experience, ESPN has called the Militia one of the top ten celebrations in the league.

The Patriots became the second team to win three Super Bowls in four years since the beginning of the Super Bowl. With quarterback Ton Brady and head coach Bill Belichick the Patriots have had the two longest winning streaks in the NFL, with 18 wins in '03-'04 and 21 wins from 2006-2008.

Former players for the New England Patriots that have been inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame include Nick Buoniconti, John Hannah, Mike Haynes and Andre Tippett.

Patriots Jersey Colors

The Patriots colors have were traditionally red, blue and white until 1993 when the new logo that is in use today was introduced and the uniforms changed to blue and silver. Dark blue jerseys with white lettering and red trim paired with silver pants with red and blue side stripes and blue socks make up the home uniform. White jerseys with blue lettering and red trim paired with blue pants that have white and red stripes and white socks with three blue stripes make up the road uniform. The New England Patriots wear silver helmets with red face guards and the patriots' logo on the sides.

At the time the new colors and uniforms were chosen the logo also had a change from the Pat Patriot logo that was created in 1959 to the patriot head with the colonial hat in blue, red and white that is still used today. The New England Patriots have not made many identity and branding changes over the years, and when they have made a major change, it was consistent so that all the changes came about in the same season, uniforms, helmets, and logos all at once.

With not only a lot of successful history but also a very talented team going into the 2009 season the New England Patriots is still and once again a team to watch. The Pats definitely got the new millennium off to a good start, making it to the Super Bowl each year between 2000 and 2005 including 3 Super Bowl wins in the early 2000's. It should be exciting to see what new records they can break as the years go on.
