Titans Jersey Colors
Along with name changes and player changes, the team also went through some jersey and uniform changes. As the Oilers, the team jersey was blue or white with red trim and white pants. This uniform lasted until 1971 where then the pants became silver at home games and light blue pants on the road. The helmets changed color as well from blue to silver then white. A new logo was included with the change from the Oilers to the Titans; a circle with three stars, a large T and blue and red flames. The uniform now consists of white helmets, and navy or white jerseys with red trim. White pants are worn with the navy jerseys and navy pants with the white jerseys.
The Tennessee Titans are going to kick off the 2009 NFL preseason in the Hall of Fame Game scheduled for August 9th against the Buffalo Bills The game is being played at Cantons Pro Football Hall of Fame Field in Fawcett Stadium and will be nationally televised on NBC. The team will wear its old Oiler's uniforms in honor of the AFL's 50th Anniversary, similar to the way many teams wore throwback uniforms during the NFL's 75th Anniversary season.
While the Tennessee Titans is a new team the history behind it packs quite a punch. Essentially the team has been around since 1960, and have had many successful and just as many not so successful seasons. From the Houston Oilers, to the Tennessee Oilers and now the newest incarnation of the Tennessee Titans this team has a fan base that is amazing, loyal and even willing to travel. The team is looking forward to a winning season in 2009 with Coach Jeff Fisher and such notable players as Vince Young, Kenny Britt, and Jeremy Haynes.
