Number 12 Jersey
The Seattle Seahawks paid tribute to their raucous fans that made the Kingdome the loudest stadium in the NFL by retiring the number 12 in 1984. Jerseys with the number 12 and the name FAN on the back have been sold by the team and worn by fans ever since.
In 1976 when the Seahawks debuted their logo was a royal blue and green hawks head. The helmet and uniforms consisted of a silver helmet with silver pants and home jerseys of royal blue with white blue and green arm stripes. Road jerseys were white with blue and green arm stripes.
In 1983 the uniforms received a slight update and change. The stripes on the arm of the jerseys included the Seahawks logo and the TV numbers were moved to the shoulders. The facemasks on the helmet were changed from silver to blue for contrast.
In 2002 the logo and the uniforms went through a major change. The colors were modified to lighter Seahawks Blue and darker Seahawks Navy with neon green piping. The helmets were also changed to Seahawks Blue from silver. The logo artwork was altered to show a more aggressive looking bird.
Since 2003 the team usually wears all blue at home and all white on the road. Now that the Oakland Raiders have worn their white jerseys at home the Seahawks are the only NFL team to have never worn white jerseys at home.
With fans like the Seahawks have there is no way that they dont feel the love and support of the audience when they play. Over several years in the NFL the Seahawks have had up seasons and down seasons but they are nowhere near ready to quit. They are going into the 2009 season with a new head coach, Jim L. Mora, and great players like Matt Hasselbeck, David Washington, and Cory Redding, hopefully we will see the Seahawks in another Super Bowl soon.
