Lightning Bolt Jersey
As for colors from 1960 to 1973 the colors for the team were electric blue, or white jerseys with gold lightning bolts on the shoulders, the helmets were white and had the lightning bolt, and players number in gold. During this time the team wore white pants, until sometime in the late 60's when they switched to gold.
As the years went on the electric blue jersey was switched to a dark royal blue, the helmet also was changed to dark blue and the players' numbers were left off of the helmets. The Chargers generally wore their white jerseys at home and the blue for road games, until 1994 when they switched to blue for home and white for away games.
Throughout the 80's the uniforms were revamped adding lightning bolts to the pants which were white and adding gold trim to all of the logos. Nothing major was changed on the uniforms except for the location of logos and numbers, and adding some trim and striping in different places.
Currently the Chargers wear navy blue jerseys with yellow lightning bolts with navy and a lighter blue trim with white pants for home games. The road jersey is white with the revamped lightning bolt that is worn with navy pants.
The San Diego Chargers have a winning history and quite a few notable players, and they have racked up wins and losses both over the years that they have been in the NFL. As the Chargers prepare to begin the 2009 season under head coach Norv Turner with David Rivers, LaDanian Tomlinson and Darren Sproles, they have a powerful offense that will excite the fans and the sports press and they are looking forward to a winning season, and hopefully a Super Bowl win.
