Colors, Logo, Jerseys
The Colts' colors and their logo have remained the same since the team's debut in 1953. Their blue and white colors have remained consistent in their uniforms which include blue jerseys with white shoulder stripes and white jerseys with blue stripes. The pants are the only part of the uniform that has changed throughout the years. The pants are now white with blue stripes along the sides, but from 1982 to1987, the Colts wore gray pants with their blue jerseys until 1987 when the gray pants were retired.
The Colts did wear blue pants with their white jerseys for just the first three games of the 1995 season, but then decided to go back to the white pants for both the blue and white jerseys. The team made some minor uniform changes in the early 2000s, with minor striping pattern change on their jerseys.
Peyton Manning who broke the team's record for touchdown passes is one of the most popular team jerseys sold. Many of the newer players on the team are seeing their numbers show up on fans jerseys also.
The Colts' horseshoe logo is also a symbol of good luck and while the boys are skilled and talented, with many years of playing history behind them everyone can use a little bit of luck. As they rev up for the 2009 season led by new Head Coach Jim Caldwell, and with a season of getting used to their new stadium under their belts the Colts are ready for a winning season and hopefully another trip to the Super Bowl.
